Lineage
Mama Strange is my great grandmothers lineage.
She was a seamstress a beautician with a focus on mending peoples clothes and their spirits, cleaning them up with a shave or haircut and a beauty treatment … making sure your cup was full of a fine southern beverage , your belly was full of well balanced nourishment
And your heart was full of love.
She believed in serving people through creating beauty in and on everyone during the great depression in a little town in Louisiana.

She was a faithful daughter , a bold mother , a dedicated grandmother and a humble beauty queen who invented herself as a local icon and landmark.
Her propensity was to embrace life , focused on the present , build connections , cultivating confidence and provoke providence and provision for families and loved ones .
She met people where they were and built them up with humor , affection , attention and compassion.
She gestated 2 generations of beauticians, body workers, healthcare practitioners, alternative doctors and nurses that she raised with an influence on being grateful for one another , for the procurement of mother nature’s resources being used in mindful harmony to the land and the in the spirit of gathering where God shows up and shows off for his children to care for this life .

Directions
Please use the words Casa de Luz Toomey Rd in your GPS for the specific location.
Park across the street from Casa De Luz in the paid parking lot.
Please pay attention to the signs for changing pay times and days on posted parking meters
Enter through the archway of Casa de Luz wellness village. Move forward down the trellis path, noticing the arrow signs affirming your direction . Turn right at the playground and look for the Day Spa sign and the giant nesting blue bird.
Please do not knock If the “in session” sign is on the door. Do help yourself to complementary water and tea on tap in the Casa de Luz café , diagonal to the serenity space across the main courtyard .
Your visit is important . In the occasional event ,
I am running behind schedule, I will make sure your full service time is honored.
You are welcome in any of the shops, restaurant or lounging/seating areas before or after your service for casual curiosity , ceremonial journeys in cacao and kava or integration experiences of your spa journey .
The restrooms are located in the pavilion area in the main courtyard and in the Serenity Space.
Our hope in creating this urban retreat with fills was to Barton springs , town lake and downtown is that you feel inspired to gather , sip , be present , unwind , share your stories and ideas as you create family and friends in the living pulse of our community in the heart of our sweet Austin , Tx
